Native App Alert Overhaul

A full redesign took in-app Marketing alerts for Scruff and Jack'd from static images to fully animated videos tailored to new users.

Something about the blurred phone UI background and emoji reactions in the foreground has me like <3.

One of the first projects I was assigned when hired as a Visual Designer at Perry Street Software was to design an overhaul of their in-app branded alerts.

In-app branded alerts encompass any full-screen or in-feed messaging that notifies users of new app features, membership promotions, or general community messaging.

Prior to this continually-evolving app alert refresh, the vast majority of alerts were static images accompanied by marketing copy. While the first approved redesigns were also static images, the designs eventually evolved into animations. Opting to animate proved to be immensely useful; presenting clear, concise visual context to the user, which were made even more effective accompanied by succinct text and a call-to-action.

All animations and alert layouts were done by myself using Principle and Figma (previously Sketch) and were built in conjunction with a React Native developer. The designs account for varying screen sizes and both iOS and Android mobile operating systems.
